Sash from Sash & Em

I run a blog with my best friend, Em - we love Young Adult literature.

The Adoration of Jenna Fox - Mary E. Pearson After seeing this book floating around on Goodreads and seeing it pop up multiple times on my Recommendations list for Amazon, I decided to give this a try. I'm so glad I did! I wasn't exactly sure what I thought this book was going to be about - robots? or aliens? Not quite, but what it DID turn out to be was something I think is very original by Mary E. Pearson and something that I think could totally be plausible in..let's say..100 years? Okay..maybe more but you never know with the way technology is going these days!

One of the reasons I really enjoyed this book was the underlying theme of humanity. What makes us human? Are there percentages to how human we are? Also, are "human" and "humane" the same thing? How do you distinguish which parts of us are "more humane" than others? Is there a "most important" part of us that makes us who we are? And are people who are considered to be more human than others, more HUMANE than others?

Great questions to think about while reading this awesome science fiction book. The ending was a little brief and I wish it would have lasted a little bit longer. But I guess I'm just used to reading "series" books and having something that is told beginning to end in 266 pages seemed too short to me. (Maybe I just wanted more!)
